DESCRIPTION:We cordially invite researchers\, policy experts and representatives of public administration\, the private sector and civil society organizations as well as other policy enthusiasts\, to participate in the international bioeconomy-conference\, hosted by the Agricultural and Food Policy Group at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. \nThe conference marks the completion of the research project PolDeRBio (Policy Designs for Resilient Bioeconomies)\, which has been funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education under the program “Bioeconomy as societal change”. \nWhat to expect? \nAn open\, interactive space to discuss research results\, ideas\, experiences and ways forward in the area of bioeconomy policy. \nPlease find additional information about the conference\, registration and a potential contribution\, in the form of a presentation\, roundtable or workshop\, in our flyer. \nWhen and where?\nThe conference will take place in the beautiful historical ballroom at Luisenstraße 56 in Berlin’s city center from 22nd February 2023 lunchtime until 23rd February 2023 afternoon. \nHere you can find more information.

SUMMARY:Städte im Zeichen des Klimawandels
DESCRIPTION:Vortrag mit Prof. i.R. Dr. Wilhelm Kuttler\, Angewandte Klimatologie und Landschaftsökologie\, Universität Duisburg-Essen\nStädte weisen in lokalklimatischer und lufthygienischer Sicht Besonderheiten auf. Zudem sind sie hot spots der Bevölkerungsdichte. Deshalb wirkt der Klimawandel sich verstärkt auf sie aus. Nimmt die weltweite Erwärmung zu\, bringt das eine höhere Wärmebelastung für die Bewohner\, zunehmende Ozon- und Feinstaubkonzentration sowie mehr allergisch wirkende Pollen mit sich. Hitzebedingt steigen auch Morbiditäts- und Mortalitätsrate. Die klimatisch/lufthygienische Situation könnte durch mehr bewässertes Grün\, eine intelligente Pflanzenauswahl\, das Entsiegeln von Flächen\, eine optimierte Belüftung der Stadt\, veränderte Verkehrskonzepte sowie insbesondere einem sparsameren Umgang mit Energie verbessert werden. \nVor dem Vortrag im DBU Zentrum für Umweltkommunikation gibt es eine Führung durch die Ausstellung „Grün Stadt Grau“\, Beginn 17.45 Uhr. Die Veranstaltung ist kostenlos\, eine Anmeldung ist nicht nötig. \nDie Ausstellung Grün Stadt Grau – Nachhaltige StadtLandschaften ist ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt der DBU und der Klimastiftung für Bürger – Klima Arena Sinsheim.
